About
Gina joined the Ouachita Student Financial Services Office in 2021. She began working
in the student financial aid industry in 1998, serving in the Admissions and Financial
Aid Department of the College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical
Sciences, and later serving as Director of Financial Aid for the College of Medicine.
From 2012-2021, she served as Director of Financial Aid for a cosmetology school in
North Little Rock. In 2021, she and her husband Jason, who serves as the Chief Financial
Officer at Ouachita, made the decision to end their hated commutes and make their
home in Arkadelphia.
Fun Facts
What is your favorite place on campus and why?
I have always thought Ouachita's campus was beautiful. I have two favorite places.
The first is Berry Chapel. I just have such wonderful memories there. In college,
I attended Praise and Worship services there on Thursday nights, and noonday talks
throughout the week. I spent time in classes there while staffing summer camps on
campus. And most importantly, my husband and I were married in Berry Chapel. My second
favorite place on campus is Dr. Jacks! I love good coffee!
Why did you enter your profession?
I could not articulate it this well when I graduated college, but a line in our our
mission statement that says we want to prepare our students for lives of meaningful
work was what I desired most. I considered pursuing counseling, social work, and full
time ministry positions and just by the Lord's providence ended up in a field that
I knew little about, but enabled me to serve, to listen, and to help. I enjoy helping
families prepare for financing college, and educating students and families on their
options.
