CONNECTING POLICY TO PRACTICE

Center for Education & Public Policy

The Center for Education and Public Policy was created to bridge the gap between education research, education policy, and the implementation of that research and those policies.

The CEPP's focus is in three primary areas: public education, public policy, and community development.  One goal of the CEPP is to develop tools that will be useful to policy makers, educators, and community leaders in creating a school and community culture of high expectations for all students. We are committed to working with districts and local communities to improve public engagement in the local education system and improve student performance.  Additionally, we want to work with community and state leaders to help create an environment that produces innovation and creativity in the future workforce and leadership roles.

The CEPP is interested in developing partnerships to accomplish these goals.  If you are interested in partnering with us to address education issues in your school or community, please contact us.

We have several exciting projects planned for this year.   Please check our projects page for more information.

New Program of Study at OBU for Students Interested in Public Policy

The new minor for Education and Public Policy was added to OBU's catalog this fall. This program is for students who are interested in serving their local communities through public policy positions but may also be interested in pursuing a career outside of public policy. By participating in the Minor in Education and Public Policy, students can continue their work in their chosen career field and gain the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively serve in a policy making position.
