OSF Scholarship Deadline has been extended until this Friday, February 20. Scholarships are awarded by a committee of students representing the Ouachita Student Foundation. Only those students classified as juniors and above (59+ hours) by Fall 2009 may apply for an OSF Scholarship. The deadline to return completed applications is Friday, February 20, 2009. Completed applications should be returned to OBU Box 3090 or the Development Office (3rd Floor Cone-Bottoms). http://www.obu.edu/osf/application.asp
FAFSA reminder to students and parents – with the new year comes the filing of income tax, and with the filing of income tax comes FAFSA. Don’t forget to file for your new federal financial aid for the 2009-2010 academic year at www.fafsa.ed.gov . If you filed the FAFSA last year, you should receive a PIN number from the Federal Processor either via email or mail at your home address. After January 1st, you can use this PIN to apply for the 2009-2010 year. Parents may apply online at www.pin.ed.gov for the Parent PIN.
If you have gotten or are getting married before the 2009-2010 academic year, do not complete your FAFSA for the 2009-2010 school year until after you are married. Also, please contact the Student Financial Services office to let us know and also for help in completing the FAFSA.
Attention current Hale-Moore Recipients – to maintain eligibility for continuing awards you must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA. It is your responsibility to provide proof of a 3.0 grade point average for the fall semester. Send your transcripts to: Hale-Moore Education Fund c/o Sam R. Moseley, Attorney – 100 S. Attention current Sturgis Scholarship Recipients – You must send a copy of your grades to the Sturgis Foundation to maintain your scholarship. The address is: W.P. Sturgis Foundation – P.O. Box 394 – Arkadelphia, AR 71923. You may also fax your grades to 870-230-1099.

Hale-Moore Education Fund
$800 scholarships awarded to students who are active Christians, involved in a church and
community. Recipients may be selected on the basis of need, merit, or both. Consideration
will be given to students in a "middle income" bracket who thus so do not qualify for financial
assistance available to low-income students. The application deadline is June 30th.

The Sallie Mae Fund Unmet Need Scholarship Program provides scholarships to help meet last-dollar needs of low-income students. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, have a family adjusted gross income of $30,000 or less, demonstrate unmet financial need of at least $1,000 after the financial aid award package has been determined and have a grade point average of 2.5 and above on a 4.0 scale. Recipients must enroll at the undergraduate level on a full-time basis. Awards range from $1,000 to $3,800.

R. Preston Woodruff, Jr. Scholarship
Over his 27-year tenure at the Arkansas Student Loan Authority, R. Preston Woodruff, Jr. instilled in ASLA the importance of serving Arkansas families by providing access to higher education. The Arkansas Student Loan Authority will provide twenty-fie $1,000 scholarships each year to incoming and current college students in Arkansas. Applicants must be Arkansas residents, enrolled at least half-time. Application deadline is April 1, 2009. AAC Scholarship Trust
The Association of Arkansas Counties established a scholarship Trust in 1985 for the purpose of providing college financial assistance to the children, stepchildren, and grandchildren of Arkansas county and district officials and employees. Since that time, almost 90 scholarships have been awarded to deserving recipients. On average, approximately six scholarships are awarded yearly. The State Teacher Assistance Resource (STAR) Program
The STAR Program is designed to provide forgivable loans to students who are pursuing a course of study leading to teacher licensure in designated subject and/or geographical critical shortage areas in the state of Arkansas. The EDSF scholarship program
EDSF scholarships are awarded to full-time students who are committed to pursuing a career in the document management and communications marketplace. These careers may include: Computer science & engineering (web design, webmaster, software development, materials engineer, applications specialist, IT designer, systems analyst, chemical engineer, electrical engineer) and Graphic & Media Communications (graphic designer, illustrator, color scientist, print production, prepress imaging specialist, workflow specialist, document preparation, production and/or document distribution, content management, e-commerce; imaging science, printing, web authoring, electronic publishing, archiving, security), and those students interested in Business (sales and marketing, finance, human resources, customer service, legal, compliance, project or product development/ management) in the document management and communications industry. Proof-Reading.com Scholarship Program
The Proof-Reading.com Scholarship Program awards one $1,500 scholarship each year. A 3.5 cumulative GPA is required. The deadline for Proof-Reading.com Scholarship Contest entries is 12:00 p.m. (noon) PST on June 1, 2009. StraightForward Media Scholarships
StraightForward Media offers 22 different $500 scholarships to a wide variety of students every year. Each of their scholarship programs is open to both American and international students. National Society of Accountants Award Scholarships
Each year, thousands of students contact NSA seeking help to meet the ever-increasing costs of higher education. In response, the NSA Scholarship Foundation provides financial encouragement to promising accounting students across the country. Applicants for awards are judged on the basis of scholastic achievement, demonstrated leadership ability, and financial need. CarDonors.com Scholarship
CarDonors.com awards one $500 scholarship every three months. The deadlines for the scholarships are as follows: May 31, August 31, December 31 and March 15th. Each applicant must: Have at least a 3.0 grade point average, be a student in good standing at his/her current institution, and be attending or planning to attend an accredited U.S. college.
