Wink and Curlin to present at Arkansas Philological Association
Ouachita Baptist University professors Dr. Jay Curlin, Kathryn Maddox Professor of English, and Dr. Johnny Wink, Betty Burton Peck Professor of English, will give a presentation at the Arkansas Philological Association on Friday, October 12, in a room appropriately named the Ouachita Room of the Peabody Hotel in Little Rock. The session is at 1:00, and their presentation will begin around 1:30.
Ouachita hosts Tiger Serve Day
Almost 600 people participated in this semester’s Tiger Serve Day (TSD) at Ouachita Baptist University. The projects ranged from yard work and painting to murals on walls to picking up trash in the streets. With 60 teams and 62 projects, participants served approximately 1900 hours in the community.

International Food Festival will feature new elements
The International Club and the Daniel R. Grant Center for International Programs will host the International Food Festival on Tuesday, February 20 from 6-8 p.m. in the Walker Conference Center. A committee of faculty, staff, international students, study abroad students and missionary kids (MKs) has organized this year’s International Food Festival, which focuses on the theme, “A Taste of Our World.”

Cast and crew of Masses Man will present encore performance
The department of theatre arts in the school of fine arts will present an encore performance of Masses Man on Feb. 25-26 in Verser Theatre. The cast and crew of Masses Man will advance to the regional level of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, Feb. 27-Mar.3 in Tulsa, Okla. The invitation to advance was based on the cast’s performance at the state festival in November.

Sheena Robinson of Arkadelphia is the recipient of the Academic Enrichment Center 2007 TRIO Hall of Fame award. Robinson will be recognized at a TRIO Celebration Luncheon on Friday, February 9 in the Walker Conference Center.

Ouachita launches Web site redesign
Ouachita launched a newly redesigned Web site on January 18. The new design was created by Chris Kear, who joined the staff of computer services as webmaster in July 2006.

Mary Ethel McMillan earned a modest living but managed her finances carefully. Last week, her nephew, Bob Ewing of Texarkana, presented Ouachita with an unrestricted gift of $50,000 from her estate.
