Mission Statement

The mission of the Department of Speech Communication is to hone students' presentational and relational skills.

Specifically, we strive to:

develop students who are confident in speaking in all types of communication settings,
develop students who are competent in communicating in various informal settings (such as one-on-one encounters, a small group meeting, and intercultural exchance, and so on), and
develop students who are competent in the design, delivery, and evaluation of speeches.
