Archives and Special Collections at Ouachita Baptist University welcomes research by students, members of the campus community, alumni, and from the general public. As a teaching institution, meeting the needs of Ouachita students is our highest priority; but we endeavor to provide exceptional public service to all constituents who seek our assistance.
All prospective researchers are encouraged to call or email the Archives in advance to notify the staff of your plans to visit and conduct research so that we may serve you more effectively.
Many university archival materials, publications and records can be searched online by personal name or title, and listings of the contents of collections and record groups can be browsed online at OBU’s Scholarly Commons. If you do not find the materials in which you are interested, please give us a call or send an email. Not all of our materials are yet processed.
Digitization of our collections is an ongoing activity. University yearbooks, catalogs, graduate theses, student handbooks, select issues of the alumni magazine, The Circle, can be viewed online and are full-text searchable at OBU’s Scholarly Commons. We add new materials regularly, so please check back often.
Before your visit, take a moment to review the Special Collections Policies, consult our hours, and view a campus map to help you find parking and the library when you arrive. We look forward to your visit!
