Archives and Special Collections at Ouachita Baptist University holds a large body of primary and secondary source materials on the history of the school, on Arkansas Baptists, and on local history. Our holdings include printed books, manuscripts, county records, maps, photographs, newspapers, audiovisual recordings, and 3-dimensional objects. Archives and Special Collections materials do not circulate and may only be used in the department’s research room.
Printed materials, including family histories, historical journals, newspapers, and Baptist associational annuals, can be searched via the library’s catalog.
Archival collections, including private and business papers, records of religious, educational, business, social, and civic organizations, county government records, and political papers may be searched online by keyword or name. Guides to archival collections may also be browsed in OBU’s Scholarly Commons. We add new materials to our collection regularly; so please check our site frequently for updates to the collection search and for new guides.
For access to recordings and photographs, please contact us directly at 870-245-5332 or via email.
