More than 4,000 recordings in a variety of formats offer a wealth of information on and insights into a wide range of topics–the Great Depression, World War II, the timber industry, race relations, folklife, religion, education, and agriculture, just to name a few. These recordings are particularly useful as a means of supplementing the written record and supplying information not found in newspapers, official documents, and correspondence.
