Ouachita’s finance major prepares students for a variety of financial careers. The major includes an introduction to the fields of banking, insurance, investments and real estate and allows students to pursue additional depth in areas of interest. A financial planning track offers additional preparation for students with an interest in becoming financial advisors.
In addition to the University Core Requirements, Basic School Requirements and Business Core Requirements, completion of the finance program includes the following courses:
• Personal Finance
• Financial Institutions
• Corporate Financial Management
• Insurance Principles
• Real Estate Principles
Program requirements also include completing two of the following courses:
• Federal Income Tax
• Electronic Spreadsheets
• Entrepreneurial Finance
• Advanced Financial Planning
