TYLER TARVER, Ed.S.
Director of Ouachita at New Life Church
Tyler comes to OBU at NLC from an administrative position with the Bauxite School District, where he has served since 2012. His extensive portfolio of responsibilities included leadership for curriculum, instruction, federal programs, communications, technology, and personnel. He has also served as a facilitator for teachers and was a principal of a 6-12th grade school.
Tyler holds an undergraduate degree in history and political science from Arkansas Tech and a Master of Arts in Teaching from UCA. He also completed a graduate certificate program in educational leadership at ASU and is currently enrolled part-time in a doctoral program at UA-Fayetteville. Tyler has also taught secondary math in the Beebe School District. A certified Google trainer and graduate of Apple Academy, he speaks at conferences and leads professional development workshops on effective uses of technology in teaching. He also produces content for YouTube channels with hundreds of instructional videos and has accumulated over 10 millions views assisting students with their learning across the world. He also does freelance photography, videography, podcasting, and has published three books to date.
Tyler loves Jesus, education, and people. He attends New Life Church at the Saline County campus and is on the leadership team with his wife, Amanda. Tyler and Amanda have three children: Titus (7), Ezra (5), and Finnick (1).

Josh grew up in Rison, Ark., and completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Arkansas at Monticello in 2007, where he met his wife, Amanda. Josh completed his Master of Science degree in college student personnel services and administration at the University of Central Arkansas in May of 2015.
The past 8 years have been exciting for Josh, as he has contributed to the increase in freshman enrollment at two different public institutions of higher education in this state. He began his higher education career as a student recruitment specialist for UA-Monticello and then accepted an assistant director of admissions position at the University of Central Arkansas in 2010. Josh served as chair of the Professional Access and Equity Committee for the Arkansas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers and was co-chairperson of the College Fair Automation Committee from 2012-2013.
Josh has a passion for seeing students reach their full potential in life through higher education and the local church.

Abbey grew up in Dallas, Texas, and completed her undergraduate degree in Christian studies and mass communications at Ouachita Baptist University, where she met her husband, Christian. After they married, Abbey and Christian moved to Conway to work for New Life Church. Abbey is passionate about serving with her husband on the worship team, fashion and beauty blogging, and has a fur baby named Harvey.

Sarah grew up in Garland, Texas; she moved to Arkansas her freshman year of college to attend Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia. After graduating in 2013, she moved to Conway where she married her husband, Josh, and worked in childcare for 3 years until making the transition to work with OBU at NLC. Sarah is very excited to not only be working for her church, but her alma mater as well. She enjoys serving at New Life Church in Conway, spending time with her husband, and sewing and embroidering in her spare time.

Mrs. Lindsay Burks teaches Concepts of Wellness at OBU at New Life Church.
Mrs. Burks has a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science, Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Science with an emphasis in Dietetics, and a Master of Science in Family and Consumer Science with an emphasis in Dietetics. She earned all of her degrees at the University of Central Arkansas.
Mrs. Burks grew up in Hardy, Ark., and moved to Conway in 2009. “I have a passion for holistic health and proper functional movement of the human body. I love Jesus, my husband (Aaron), and doing CrossFit.”
Joy “Chessie” Holmes
Mrs. Joy “Chessie” Holmes is a Conway resident and teaches Composition I, Composition II, World Literature, Contemporary World at OBU at NLC. She also serves as OBU at NLC Library Coordinator.
Mrs. Holmes has an undergraduate in English and History from Ouachita Baptist University. She has a master’s degree in English from Arkansas State University.
Mrs. Holmes has lived nearly 15 years in total overseas. She resided in Japan, Honduras, and England. Mrs. Holmes has been teaching college since 2005 and has an impressive vintage hat collection.
Dr. Bethany Hicks is a resident of Benton and teaches American Civilization and Western Civilization at OBU at NLC. She earned her undergraduate degree in History, German and Philosophy at Western Michigan University. After that, she went on to receive her Ph. D. in Modern European History from Michigan State University.
Dr. Hicks grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She first came to Arkansas five years ago to accept a position at Ouachita Baptist University, where she serves as current Assistant Professor of History and the Fulbright Program Advisor.
“I have been married to my husband, Cliff, for 10 years and we have three amazing children: Benjamin (9), Samuel (5) and Emma (3). I have traveled extensively in Europe; my family and I lived in Osnabrück, Germany for a year while I finished my dissertation research under a Fulbright IIE Grant.”
Mr. Tyler Tarver is the Director of Ouachita Baptist University at New Life Church. He has a wife named Amanda, and three kids with various names. He speaks at conferences across the state and nation on various topics related to teaching, administration, and technology. He has amassed over 10 million views on YouTube and 40,000 subscribers between his 2 channels.
He created and maintains TarverAcademy.com, where he helps students/teachers with math, tech, and an assortment of professional development needs. He’s written 3 books and has been a teacher, facilitator, director, and principal. He has no relation to Denzel Washington.
Dr. Wyman Richardson is a North Little Rock resident and teaches Bible Interpretation at OBU at NLC. Dr. Richardson has a Bachelor of Arts in History from The University of South Carolina. He continued his education by completing a Master of Divinity at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Doctorate of Ministry at The Beeson Divinity School of Samford University.
“The earliest job I ever had was putting up tombstones that my Grandfather had sold. I’m a big Bob Dylan fan, and my cousin led Mickey Mantle to the Lord, (my cousin is Bobby Richardson, former NY Yankees 2nd baseman).”
Mrs. Lisette Washispack is a Conway resident and spouse to Dr. Quentin Washispack. She teaches Personal Finance at OBU at NLC and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Mrs. Washispack earned her undergraduate degree in Commercial Banking/Finance at Louisiana State University. She went on to receive her Master of Accountancy at University of Central Arkansas
Mrs. Washispack enjoys gardening, painting, sewing, reading, travelling with her family and church to China, cooking gumbo for her family and friends, and eating boiled crawfish every Mother’s Day.
Dr. Quentin Washispack is a Conway resident and teaches Introduction to Christian Ministry at OBU at NLC. Dr. Washispack goes by the familiar name “Dr. Q” here at OBU at NLC and also is a pastor at New Life Church.
Dr. Q received his undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering at Louisiana State University. He went on to complete his Master of Theology at Dallas Theological Seminary as well as his Doctorate of Ministry.
Dr. Q enjoys deer hunting with his cross bow, muzzle loading and modern gun, he loves Chachere’s Creole Seasoning on everything he eats and is a big LSU fan. “All four of my children have attended the University of Arkansas. My wife and I graduated from LSU so we have a house divided!”
Mrs. Ann Gardner teaches Fundamentals of Public Speaking at OBU at New Life Church.
Mrs. Gardner is also chair of the Communication Department at Central Baptist College in Conway. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Education degree in Journalism and English from UCA and a master’s degree in Journalism from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
She enjoys reading anything she can get her hands on and loves early Beatles music. Mrs. Gardner has a 14-year-old dog, Spotty, and a nosy black cat, Nellie Bly.
Mr. Jamie Naramore is a Benton resident and teaches Biblical Interpretation at OBU at NLC. Mr. Naramore has a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies from Ouachita Baptist University and a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Jamie has served in multiple cross-cultural settings, and loves to mobilize people to fulfill the Great Commission within their individual callings. He enjoys coffee, guacamole, Coldplay, and Notre Dame football. But more than anything he loves spending time with his wife and three kids.
