Mrs. Lindsay Burks is a Conway resident and teaches Concepts of Wellness at OBU at New Life Church.
Mrs. Burks has a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science, Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumer Science with an emphasis in Dietetics, and a Master of Science in Family and Consumer Science with an emphasis in Dietetics. She earned all of her degrees at the University of Central Arkansas.
Mrs. Burks grew up in Hardy, Arkansas and moved to Conway in 2009. “I have a passion for holistic health and proper functional movement of the human body. I love Jesus, my husband (Aaron), and doing CrossFit.”
Dr. Bethany Hicks is a resident of Benton and teaches American Civilization and Western Civilization at OBU at NLC. She earned her undergraduate degree in History, German and Philosophy at Western Michigan University. After that, she went on to receive her Ph. D. in Modern European History from Michigan State University.
Dr. Hicks grew up in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She first came to Arkansas five years ago to accept a position at Ouachita Baptist University, where she serves as current Assistant Professor of History and the Fulbright Program Advisor.
“I have been married to my husband, Cliff, for 10 years and we have three amazing children: Benjamin (9), Samuel (5) and Emma (3). I have traveled extensively in Europe; my family and I lived in Osnabrück, Germany for a year while I finished my dissertation research under a Fulbright IIE Grant.”
Mrs. Holmes has an undergraduate in English and History from Ouachita Baptist University. She has a master’s degree in English from Arkansas State University.
Mrs. Holmes has lived nearly 15 years in total overseas. She resided in Japan, Honduras, and England. Mrs. Holmes has been teaching college since 2005 and has an impressive vintage hat collection.
Mrs. Amy O’Brien is a Conway resident and spouse to our very own OBU at NLC Director, Dr. Brandon O’Brien. Mrs. O’Brien teaches Spiritual Formation at OBU at NLC and also directs the Tuesday Night Bible Survey Children’s course at New Life Church.
Mrs. O’Brien earned her undergraduate degree in Christian Studies with an emphasis in Theology at Ouachita Baptist University. The O’Briens both went on to study at Wheaton College in Chicago, Illinois where she completed a Master in Christian Formation and Ministry.
Mrs. O’Brien was born in the Philippines and grew up in Singapore while her parents served as missionaries. “I love to eat, love to bake and am learning how to cook all the foods I grew up with. My favorite thing these days is waking up before my kids and sitting in my red chair with a cup of tea and my Bible or whatever book I’m reading at the moment.”
Dr. Wyman Richardson is a North Little Rock resident and teaches Bible Interpretation at OBU at NLC. Dr. Richardson has a Bachelor of Arts in History that he earned at The University of South Carolina. He continued his education by completing a Master of Divinity at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Doctorate of Ministry at The Beeson Divinity School of Samford University.
“The earliest job I ever had was putting up tombstones that my Grandfather had sold. I’m a big Bob Dylan fan, and my cousin led Mickey Mantle to the Lord, (my cousin is Bobby Richardson, former NY Yankees 2nd baseman).”
Mrs. Washispack earned her undergraduate degree in Commercial Banking/Finance at Louisiana State University. She went on to receive her Master of Accountancy at University of Central Arkansas
Mrs. Washispack enjoys gardening, painting, sewing, reading, travelling with her family and church to China, cooking gumbo for her family and friends, and eating boiled crawfish every Mother’s Day.
Dr. Quentin Washispack is a Conway resident and teaches Introduction to Christian Ministry at OBU at NLC. Dr. Washispack goes by the familiar name “Dr. Q” here at OBU at NLC and also is a pastor at New Life Church.
Dr. Q received his undergraduate degree in industrial Engineering at Louisiana State University. He went on to complete his Master of Theology at Dallas Theological Seminary as well as his Doctorate of Ministry.
Dr. Q enjoys deer hunting with his cross bow, muzzle loading and modern gun, he loves Tony’s Chachere’s Creole Seasoning on everything he heats and is a big LSU fan. “All four of my children have attended the University of Arkansas. My wife and I graduated from LSU so we have a house divided!”
