Ouachita at New Life Church students are eligible to apply for federal, state and community financial aid programs. Below is a selected list of available programs. Please keep in mind that federal and state aid programs are subject to the Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy.

How to Apply

Apply for federal aid listed above by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Applications for the coming school year become available after October 1 each year. You must reapply each year. Applications received prior to May 1 receive funding priority. Income information for 2016 is required for the application.

The Higher Education Amendments require the university to define and enforce standards for satisfactory academic progress to encourage students to successfully complete degree requirements within 4 years (8 semesters).

Arkansas Universal Scholarship Application

The 2018-19 Arkansas YOUniversal Scholarship Application is available online after Jan. 1. Arkansas residents should complete this one scholarship application to apply for all Arkansas state scholarships. 

Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship

Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship: Arkansas high school students with a 19 ACT  are eligible to apply. The deadline to complete the Arkansas Universal Scholarship Application to be eligible for the Academic Challenge Scholarship is June 1. There is not an income limit to receive the Academic Challenge, but students must also submit the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) at www.fafsa.ed.gov to receive Academic Challenge.

Ouachita is an approved institution for administering the educational benefit programs of the Veterans Administration (VA). The university is committed to serving veterans and their eligible dependents and provides assistance to those qualified for benefits.

  • Academic Criteria

    • Minimum GPA– 3.0

    • Minimum ACT– 22

  • Other Criteria
    • Essay – In 500 words or less, describe how an OBU at NLC education will help you achieve your future goals.
    • Letter of Recommendation
  • Amount: scholarship ensures student pays no more than $1,500/semester ($300/month) in tuition every semester based on a 15-hour schedule (any hours exceeding the 15 hours will be the student’s responsibility). 

Director’s Scholarship

  • Academic Criteria
    • Top GPA and ACT
    • Minimum GPA– 3.5
    • Minimum ACT– 28
  • Other Criteria
    • Essay – In 500 words or less, describe how an OBU at NLC education will help you achieve your future goals.
    • Interview
    • Letter of Recommendation
  • Amount
    • Full cost of tuition for four semesters*
    • Book stipend for four semesters

Submit essays and letters of recommendation via email to OBU@newlifechurch.tv. The Priority Deadline for scholarships is March 16 for the 2018-2019 academic year. 

 

*OBUNLC scholarship renewal requirements include:

  • Must maintain 3.5 GPA for Director’s Scholarship and a 3.0 GPA for Pioneer Scholarship
  • Must be actively involved in NLC ministry
  • Students must enroll in at least 12 credit hours per semester. At the end of each Fall semester students must earn 9 Ouachita undergraduate credit hours and remain in good academic standing as defined by the current academic catalog.
  • Director’s scholarship amount will be applied to student’s bill after all other aid has been applied.

**Scholarships are limited and competitive. Students are considered for eligibility upon becoming fully admitted

NLC Sponsorships are viewed as a mission for our New Life Church family. Students may apply for a variety of financial assistance from either specific departments or campuses. Sponsorships are not guaranteed and are limited based on available funds. 

  • Submit any letters of recommendation via email to OBU@newlifechurch.tv. The Priority Deadline for sponsorships is March 16 for the 2018-2019 Academic year.

  • OBU/NLC sponsorship renewal requirements vary.

NLC Apprenticeships allow for students to get a portion of their college education paid for while serving under New Life Church leadership. Students will serve, learn and grow under the supervision of a New Life Church employee and the OBU/NLC Director. Apprenticeships are not guaranteed and are limited based on available resources. 

**Apprenticeships are limited and competitive. Students are considered for eligibility upon becoming fully admitted
