My name is Adam Wheat, and I am excited to serve high school students and their families through visit experiences and the DISCOVER Program for undeclared students.

It’s crazy, but I actually marked Ouachita off my list of colleges because of something my dentist heard through the grapevine. However, as my parents and I were driving by during my “great college tour,” my dad suggested we might as well make a quick stop. That visit changed my life. The faculty and staff were different here because they took time to help me understand how my variety of interests could fit into a major. It showed me that God had a place for me at Ouachita.

Some of my favorite memories here include the friendships and skills I developed through groups like the Ouachita Student Foundation, the Carl Goodson Honors Program and the Campus Activities Board, as well as the creative collaborations I got to join and even lead like theatrical productions, donor events and three original, full-length films my friends and I made over the summers.

After graduating in 2010 with a major in Mass Communications and a minor in Art (Graphic Design), I went on to receive my Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing (Scriptwriting) from Full Sail University in 2014.

In addition to my passion for hearing people’s stories, I also love creating and appreciating magical experiences through theatre, architecture and interior design. I also like to host friends in my home, so we can enjoy my extensive collections of games and artisan pop-up books.

My time as a student at Ouachita led me to begin my career here and then, after a few years away, to return to be a part of the investment Ouachita is making in the lives of students just like you. So please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have. I look forward to hearing from you!
