My name is Anna Valdez and I have the privilege of working with students from the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex and much of the Midwest (CO, IA, MN, ND, SD, and WI). I’m originally from Terrell, Texas, and graduated from Ouachita in May 2018 with my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre.

When I’m not in the office, I enjoy exploring new places, being active, leading youth drama ministry at my church, meeting new people as an AirBnb host, or curling up with a good book and my very cuddly black cat, Holly. On most weekends, you’ll find me somewhere in the Little Rock area performing for community and children’s events as a princess, mermaid, or superhero!

While I was at OBU, I enjoyed performing and doing tech in plays and musicals, was a charter member for a new women’s social club, played in the Tiger Steel Drum ensemble, performed in Women’s Chorus and Concert Choir, and participated in the Carl Goodson Honors Program. I grew in my faith, made lifelong friends, and had so many adventures, including spending six weeks in an intensive program with Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London!

I’m now honored and blessed to return to Ouachita this year as an admissions counselor. The same things that make me love theatre – connecting with people, sharing experiences, working together in service, pursuing the gifts and callings God places on our lives – are the things that make me so excited about coming to work here every day! I get to help students discover OBU and to serve them and their families along the way.

Feel free to call or email me if you have any questions or comments! And remember, I love meeting new people, so please don’t hesitate to schedule a campus visit and come see me in person!
