My name is Jack Hunley, and I am the admissions counselor for Northeast Arkansas, Tennessee and Missouri. I grew up in Ashdown, Arkansas and went to Foreman High School. Coming from a small high school, I decided to attend Ouachita Baptist University. I graduated from OBU in May of 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
I came to OBU with a desire to study science, but I ended up learning much more. Ouachita allowed me to grow in areas I had never dreamed of, and it has opened so many doors in my life. I’ve become active in church. I’ve volunteered as a youth baseball coach and as a demonstrator for science night at local elementary schools. I’ve made connections with countless remarkable people, and even won a few intramural championships along the way.
When I have spare time, I love to spend it competing. I enjoy baseball, racquetball, basketball, tennis, and pretty much everything else. I also like to watch movies, hang out with friends, spend time at the lake, read, spend time at The Plaza in Arkadelphia, and watch my younger brother play basketball.
At college, I became a member of the Ouachita family; the OBU community has made all the difference in my life. It is so amazing being surrounded by a faculty, staff, and student body that really care for you. Ouachita is truly a unique place, and I urge you to get to know it. If you have any questions about OBU, or if you just want to talk to me about my college experience, feel free to contact me anytime. I’d love to get to know you.
