Ouachita's Saxophone Quartet performs at Region 4 NASA Conference

Ouachita Baptist University’s Saxophone Quartet recently was invited to perform at the Region 4 North American Saxophone Alliance (NASA) Conference held at the University of Arkansas March 14-17. Additionally, senior Sierra Westberg was selected for a solo performance.

Genie Ashcraft, administrative assistant to the dean of Ouachita Baptist University’s Huckabee School of Education, has been named Ouachita’s 2019 Support Staff Member of the Year.

Ouachita finance students win national G.A.M.E. Forum competition for management of Ary Student Investment Fund

Twelve Ouachita Baptist University finance students were named first place winners at the ninth annual Quinnipiac Global Asset Management Education (G.A.M.E.) Forum held March 28-30 in New York City.

Ouachita Student Foundation named district Outstanding Student Advancement Organization, Selby Tucker named Outstanding Student Leader

Ouachita Baptist University’s Ouachita Student Foundation (OSF) recently was recognized as the Outstanding Student Advancement Organization for District 4 by the national Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Affiliated Student Advancement Programs (ASAP). OSF’s vice president, Selby Tucker, also was recognized as Outstanding Student Leader for the district.

Ouachita Baptist University’s yearbook, the Ouachitonian, was one of five universities in the nation to receive a Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA) Gold or Silver Crown Award for its 2017-2018 edition yearbook, “Timeless,” at the 2019 Crown Awards held in New York City on Friday, March 8.

Wilkins honored as ABSC Associational Missionary of the Year

Dennis Wilkins was named this year’s Associational Missionary of the Year during the Arkansas Baptist State Convention’s (ABSC) annual Associational Missionaries’ Workshop, which was held Feb. 25-27 at Mount Magazine State Park.

Ouachita hosted the 2019 Arkansas National Association of Teachers of Singing competition (NATS) Feb. 22-23 and earned 18 finalist honors. Six Ouachita students received first place honors.

Ouachita Baptist University hosted the 2019 Arkansas National Association of Teachers of Singing competition (NATS) Feb. 22-23 on Ouachita’s campus. Ouachita students earned 18 finalist honors, with six students receiving first place honors.
