Rigsby chosen to lead Ouachita's new criminal justice degree program
May 17, 2022Dr. Malcolm L. Rigsby has been named professor of criminology and criminal justice and coordinator of the criminal justice program at Ouachita Baptist University. He brings more than 20 years’ teaching and research experience in higher education to the post, as well as a background in banking, private law practice and private-owned business.
Ouachita student media earn top national, state awards
May 10, 2022Ouachita Baptist University student media have earned three national awards and a Gold Medalist rating from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA) for the Ouachitonian yearbook and 64 state awards for the Ouachitonian, Signal newspaper and Ouachita Digital Sports Network, as well as online and television coverage, from the Arkansas College Media Association (ACMA).

Ouachita to honor more than 350 graduates during May 14 Commencement
May 06, 2022Ouachita Baptist University will hold its 135th Spring Commencement Saturday, May 14, at 9:30 a.m. on the front lawn of Cone-Bottoms Hall. The ceremony honors more than 350 graduates who have earned Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Music Education, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science degrees, as well as those who have earned post-baccalaureate certificates for Dietetic Internship. The nursing graduates, a cohort of 19, are the university’s first-ever B.S.N. degree recipients.

Hannah Martin competes in final round of 2022 Arkansas Governor's Cup
April 13, 2022Ouachita Baptist University student Hannah Martin, a senior psychology major from Conway, Ark., competed in the final round of the 2022 Arkansas Governor's Cup Collegiate Business Plan Competition, held during the competition awards luncheon on March 31 in Rogers, Ark. The Governor’s Cup is presented by Arkansas Capital Corporation, a private, nonprofit special project finance company based in Little Rock, Ark.
Robinson named Outstanding Dietetic Student of the Year in Dietetic Internship
April 13, 2022Latina Robinson of North Little Rock, Ark., a Dietetic Internship graduate student at Ouachita Baptist University, has been named the 2021-2022 Outstanding Dietetic Student of the Year in Dietetic Internship by the Arkansas Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She was selected from among students in all of Arkansas’ dietetic internship programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
Ouachita adds undergrad programs in pre-counseling, Christian foundations
April 06, 2022Ouachita Baptist University has approved new undergraduate degree pathways for fall 2022 to better support students seeking to pursue careers that invest in others. Ouachita faculty members approved the curriculum changes in a March 8 meeting; changes included adding a pre-counseling program of study, a Christian foundations co-major and new clinical and human services emphases within the community and family services major.
