The Ben M. Elrod Center for Family and Community at Ouachita Baptist University held its annual University Community Service Awards banquet on Tuesday, April 12, in Walker Conference Center. The banquet honors volunteers and their service through programs organized by the Elrod Center.

Hannah Martin competes in final round of 2022 Arkansas Governor's Cup

Ouachita Baptist University student Hannah Martin, a senior psychology major from Conway, Ark., competed in the final round of the 2022 Arkansas Governor's Cup Collegiate Business Plan Competition, held during the competition awards luncheon on March 31 in Rogers, Ark. The Governor’s Cup is presented by Arkansas Capital Corporation, a private, nonprofit special project finance company based in Little Rock, Ark.

Robinson named Outstanding Dietetic Student of the Year in Dietetic Internship

April 13, 2022

Latina Robinson of North Little Rock, Ark., a Dietetic Internship graduate student at Ouachita Baptist University, has been named the 2021-2022 Outstanding Dietetic Student of the Year in Dietetic Internship by the Arkansas Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She was selected from among students in all of Arkansas’ dietetic internship programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).

Ouachita graduate named Alpha Chi H.Y. Benedict Fellowship fourth alternate

Alpha Chi National College Honor Society named Sidney Salyers the $3,000 H.Y. Benedict Fellowship fourth alternate at the Alpha Chi National Convention in April. Salyers graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication sciences and disorders from Ouachita Baptist University in May.

Ouachita announces students named to Spring 2021 Dean's List

Ouachita Baptist University has named 409 students to its Spring 2021 Dean’s List. To be named to the Dean’s List, a student must compile at least a 3.5 grade point average and be classified as a full-time student, with a minimum of 12 academic hours and have no incomplete or failing grade for the semester.

Anthony Freeman and Tyranni Hubbard receive Ouachita's Annie Abrams Living Legacy Award

Ouachita Baptist University has named Anthony Freeman from Monroe, La., and Tyranni Hubbard from Little Rock, Ark, as the 2021 recipients of the second annual Annie Abrams Living Legacy Award for Black student leaders. They each will receive $2,500.

Ouachita's Lackey, Moreno receive FNSNA scholarships to continue nursing education

Earlier this month, Ouachita Baptist University nursing students Cassie Lackey and Jacob Moreno were awarded scholarships by the Scholarship Selection Committee of the Foundation of the National Student Nurses’ Association (FNSNA) for their involvement in Ouachita’s NSNA student chapter and upon recommendation from their professors in the Department of Nursing.

Nicholas Herrington wins 2021 Juried Student Art Show at Ouachita

May 18, 2021

Ouachita Baptist University’s Art Club announced the winners of the 2021 Juried Student Art Show on Scholars Day, April 28, with Nicholas Herrington named the first place winner. Herrington is a junior studio art and history double major from Benton, Ark. The annual competition allows students of all majors the opportunity to have their artwork displayed on campus; the 2021 exhibit will be on display in Hammons Gallery in Mabee Fine Arts Center through October 2.
