Club Sports

Your go-to recreation just became a Ouachita club sport! Looking to take your favorite leisure activity to the next level? Ouachita is now offering club sports teams! Build camaraderie with fellow Ouachita students who share a love for your activity but without the stress of balancing a full-time sport and your college classes.

All of Ouachita’s competitive sports are open to both males and females, freshmen through seniors. Each competitive sport is its own organization, with its own faculty sponsors and student leaders. In addition to practices and team events, you also will have the opportunity to compete on-campus, in-state and possibly regionally and nationally with other universities.

Current Sports

Check out our currently active or forming club sports below. Don’t see the competitive sport you were hoping for? You can make a proposal!

New club sports can be created each year with a proposal submitted to Ouachita’s Club Sports Council (CSC) for approval and admission. The CSC is composed of one elected representative from each club sport, sponsors of each sport, the president of Ouachita Baptist University and the director of club sports programs.

Students who enjoy fishing, even if they have never fished a tournament, are welcome to join the Ouachita Fishing Club. Fish on the college tournament tour, competing with other Fishing Club teams ranging from small, local colleges to Division I universities in nearby states.

Ouachita’s Fishing Club currently competes in several fishing leagues, including the Arkansas Collegiate Series, B.A.S.S. College Series, The Cabela’s Series and FLW Yeti Series. Fishing Club members also register for membership with professional fishing organizations, including B.A.S.S. and Fishing League Worldwide.

Contact the faculty sponsor for more information. Ouachita’s Fishing Club hosts an interest meeting at the beginning of each fall semester.

Coming soon!

Cycling is both a fast-growing sport and a lifetime sport. Ouachita is excited to offer students interested in mountain biking and/or road biking an opportunity to join its Cycling Club.

The Ouachita Cycling Club aims to share its enthusiasm for collegiate cycling through training rides, social rides, philanthropy and competition. Mountain biking season will take place in the fall, while road biking season will take place in the spring. Practices for both mountain biking and road biking will take place on the many trails located in Arkadelphia, Ark., and at DeGray Lake.

With Ouachita in the process of joining the South Central Collegiate Cycling Conference (SCCCC), club members also will be able to compete against students from other universities within the region.
