Biography

Daniel Stargel joined the Ouachita faculty after more than two decades as a professional theatre artist and educator, working across the United States in regional theatres, tours, theme parks and cruise ship entertainment. His performance and directing credits span classical theatre, musical theatre, original works and Biblical drama, including the premiere casts of Jesus and Queen Esther at Sight & Sound Theatres in Lancaster, Pa. He has been honored to work onstage with legendary talents like Sarah Brightman and Jason Robert Brown, and learn from Broadway icons like Stephen Sondheim, Stephen Schwartz and Marvin Hamlisch. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Florida Southern College and an MFA in Drama from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Outside the classroom and the theatre, Daniel enjoys spending time with his wife, Rachel, and their six children, watching hockey and football, reading and playing board games. He is passionate about his faith in Jesus and the power of storytelling, and he is inspired by theatre's ability to create experiences that are both enjoyable and meaningful for audiences of all ages.
