About
After graduating from Ouachita in 1999, I began my 22-year teaching career at Shiloh
Christian School in Springdale, Ark. While there, I taught high school Spanish for
one year, then moved down to elementary where I spent the remaining 21 years teaching
second grade (seven years), first grade (10 years) and fifth grade (four years). My
connection to Ouachita remained strong during that time, so when the opportunity to
come work here presented itself, I couldn't imagine giving any other answer than yes!
I'm thrilled to be back "home."
I'm an extroverted introvert who loves being with family and friends. I prefer deep
connections with a few people over not-so-deep connections with many. I have a nephew
and three nieces that I adore. "Aunt Lizzie" is my favorite job/title.
My hobbies include cooking, reading, working in my flowerbeds, fishing and spending
time with friends and family. I enjoy attending football, basketball and baseball
games and am working on checking off visiting all the MLB ballparks.
Fun Facts
What is your go-to snack?
Mashed potatoes are my very favorite, but I like a good steak to go along with them!
Why did you enter the teaching profession?
I entered the teaching profession because I love to connect with people in a way that
makes them feel valued. In my new position here at Ouachita, I hope to continue making
meaningful connections with students and others around me.
