Why consider a career in Speech/Language Pathology?

Of all the gifts bestowed upon humanity, the ability to communicate is one of the most important. Any impairment of this ability can have far-reaching consequences, affecting every aspect of a person's life, from learning, to work, to interactions with family, friends, and community. Speech-language pathologists provide services to prevent, diagnose, evaluate, and treat communication disorders.

At OBU, student speech/language clinicians are provided a practicum component as a part of their academic training program. Student clinicians are supervised by nationally-certified, state-licensed speech/language pathology faculty members. Faculty members either hold a master's or doctoral degree & have extensive clinical experience in a variety of settings.
