Pre-Professional Exams

Medical School

Students planning to attend medical school will take the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT).  MCAT test dates and practice problems are available.  Additional resources for medical school applicants can be found on the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) application page.  Students applying to allopathic medical schools to get an MD will apply through AMCAS; students applying to osteopathic medical schools to get a DO will apply through AACOMAS.

Dental School

Students planning to attend dental school will take the Dental Admission Test (DAT).

The American Dental Association (ADA) answers DAT FAQs and also offers a DAT tutorial.

Graduate School, Physical Therapy School, and Veterinary School

Students planning to attend graduate school, physician assistant school, physical therapy school, or veterinary school will take the Graduate Record Exam (GRE).  Most students will take the General Test, but some students may also take a specific Subject Test.

The Educational Testing Service (ETS) offers free and low-cost GRE preparation materials.

Optometry School

Students planning to attend optometry school will take the Optometry Admission Test (OAT).

Pharmacy School

Students planning to attend pharmacy school will take the Pharmacy College Admission Test (PCAT).  Pearson Education provides information about the PCAT and offers a practice PCAT exam.
