Mac Setup

Connect a computer to the network through a wired or wireless connection.

• For a wired connection, plug your Ethernet cable (not a phone cable) into your computer and into the wall jack in your residence hall room.
• For a wireless connection:
  
  

1. Click on the wireless icon  in the menu bar.
2. Choose the network you want to join (this will be the name of your residence hall or, for the general campus, "OUACHITA"). The password for each of these WiFi networks is found in your account profile in Info.

 

Protect your Computer

1. Periodically, Apple releases updates to your macOS software (which can include updates to apps that come with your Mac and important security updates). If you receive a notification that software updates are available, keep your computer protected and up to date by installing these updates.

2. Install an antivirus program if you do not already have one
