Windows Setup

Connect a computer to the network through a wired or wireless connection

• For a wired connection, plug your Ethernet cable (not a phone cable) into your computer and into the wall jack in your residence hall room.
•  For a wireless connection follow the steps below

1. Click or tap the network icon from the system tray
2. Choose the network you want to join (this will be the name of your residence hall or, for the general campus, "OUACHITA"). The password for each of these WiFi networks is found in your account profile in Info.

 

Protect your computer

1. Turn on your Windows Firewall
2. Install Windows Updates
3. Install an antivirus program if you have not already.
