New OBU Experience course teaches campus tradition, expectations to freshmen

This fall, Ouachita Baptist University added a new class to the core curriculum designed specifically for freshmen. The OBU Experience, an eight-week course held one hour each week, is required of all incoming freshmen.

Ouachita School of Fine Arts to host Festival of Christmas Dec. 3-4

Once again it is time for Ouachita Baptist University’s School of Fine Arts to host Festival of Christmas. The annual event will be held on Dec. 3-4 at 7:30 p.m. in Jones Performing Arts Center.

Stephanie Beck, Emmanuel Engulu named University Scholars

Stephanie Beck, a senior French and Russian major from Sheridan, Ark., and Emmanuel Engulu, a senior Christian studies, theology and kinesiology major from Keller, Texas, have been named University Scholars by Ouachita Baptist University’s College Society Advisory Board.

Ouachita to host ESL Workshop Nov. 12-13

The Daniel and Betty Jo Grant Center for International Education in collaboration with the Ben M. Elrod Center for Family and Community will host an English as a Second Language (ESL) workshop Nov. 12-13 at Ouachita Baptist University.

Ouachita to host TRIO Talent Search Day Sept. 24

TRIO Talent Search is a program designed to identify promising students within certain economic backgrounds and help them take the necessary steps to pursue postsecondary education.

Ouachita to host Upward Bound Senior Saturday on Sept. 11

Each year Ouachita Baptist University’s Upward Bound program helps to get junior high and high school students to start thinking about college, and more importantly to recognize that postsecondary education can be a reality for them all.
