Will Labossiere Performs with OBU Percussion Ensemble

Professional dance accompanist Will Labossiere (Texas Christian University) was on campus to give a clinic on how to accompany dance classes and perform in a collaboration between the OBU Percussion Ensemble and Dance Company. Labossiere has performed with groups such as the Greensboro Symphony, North Carolina Brass Band, and the Roanoke Symphony, sharing the stage with top-shelf artists like Kenny G and Ben Folds. A student of improvisation, he is a vibraphonist in his own jazz collective and free improvisation group, the Labossiere Duo. He has also had the pleasure of performing at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Boston’s Symphony Hall, and at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention. Additionally, Will was a featured performer at the Zeltsman Marimba Festival, Orford Musique Festival in Quebec, and the Sandbox Percussion Seminar, and was a fellow at the Adirondack Performing Fellowship.  Additionally, Will serves on faculty at the Cshey Summer Music School, where he teaches applied percussion and directs the percussion ensemble. He recently joined the School for Classical and Contemporary Dance at Texas Christian University, where he supervises the school’s dance accompanists, accompanies dance classes, and teaches the Music for Dancers course.
