and just like that I’m an OBU alum... how that’s possible, I’m not really sure and I think I’ll be in this state of confusion for quite awhile. one thing I am very sure of though, is that Ouachita is a special place. I still remember the day I stepped out of my car onto Cone Bottoms lawn for my tour. I had originally planned on touring another university that day but found out that it had been closed due to snow, and an hour later ended up at Ouachita. I remember walking down the sidewalk on Cone Bottoms lawn hearing the birds chirping and the sun shining through the towering trees. I felt at home here. four years later, so many memories made and lessons learned, I sat in my seat on that same lawn waiting to walk across the stage and heard the same chirping and saw the light shining through the trees one more time. and I was at home. I’m forever grateful for the people who made it possible for me to call Ouachita, “home” for the last 4 years and for the people I met there that made it feel like home💜
