January 01, 2020
With the release of We The Union's album this week, it got us thinking about all the
former Refuge leaders who have continued to make great music after leaving OBU. Here
are a few of the albums that have come out in the last few years from people who led
or played in the Refuge band:Michael Bleecker's ministry at The Village Church in the Dallas-Fort Worth area has
allowed him to collaborate on a number of albums, including: God of Victory, Look and See (Live), and the Village Kids album Blessed is the Man.
Matthew BaileyJohn Shirley, one of the founders of Refuge (originally called "Praise and Worship"),
is a worship leader at the Gathering Network in Kansas City. He released The Dessert Blooms in 2013.
Noah James released his Hymns EP at the end of his senior year at OBU and has followed it up this year with Sun and Moon, working with David Leonard and Leslie Jordan from All Sons and Daughters.
