The ultimate Ouachita freshman bucket list

January 01, 2020

The first year of college can be hard. Moving to a new place is full of uncertainty. The summer before my freshman year, I was worried about making friends and going on fun adventures. Once school started, my fears were gone. I met my best friends, and we had a lot of fun.

To ease your fears, I created a list of activities for you and your soon-to-be friends. See how many you can check off throughout your freshman year. This will at least give you a start on how to spend your weekends.

  1. Float the Caddo River

  2. Attend at least one night of TWIRP (The Woman Is Required to Pay)

  3. Eat at Cajun Snow in Caddo Valley

  4. Go to a Refuge service

  5. Participate in Tiger Tunes

  6. Sign up for Tiger Serve Day

  7. Go to a CAB movie night

  8. Have a bonfire at DeGray Lake

  9. Hammock at the bluff

  10. Guard the Tiger

  11. Attend Battle of the Ravine

  12. Spend a Saturday in downtown Hot Springs

  13. Make a late night Waffle House run

  14. Go to Festival of Christmas

  15. See the Gurdon light

  16. Have a CDA (Campus Drive Around)

  17. Rush

  18. Play sardines or hide-and-seek in the empty buildings at night

  19. Hike Pinnacle Mountain in Little Rock

  20. Participate in Tiger Traks

Don’t know what some of these are yet? Don’t worry. Your newly found Ouachita community will help you out. These are all too good to miss.
