Cain to perform sophomore recital on March 6

Mallory Cain headshotOuachita Baptist University’s Division of Music will host Mallory Cain in her sophomore recital on Friday, March 6, at 2 p.m. The recital, which is free and open to the public, will be held in McBeth Recital Hall in Ouachita’s Mabee Fine Arts Center.

Cain, a sophomore musical theatre major from Little Rock, Ark., is a member of Alpha Psi Omega national theatre honor society and earned fifth place finalist at the National Association of the Teachers of Singing (NATS) Southern Region Conference in fall 2019. Cain’s instructors are Dr. Maggie Garrett, associate professor of music, and Stephanie Murry, assistant professor of theatre arts.

Cain will begin with a performance of Daniel Acquisto’s “It Could Totally Happen” from Like You Like It. Next, she will perform Karey and Wayne Kirkpatrick’s “Right Hand Man” from Something Rotten, followed by a scene from Amy Herzog’s 4,000 Miles. Cain will conclude her recital with Stephen Sondheim’s “Losing My Mind” from Follies.

Payton Hickman, a sophomore musical theatre major from Siloam Springs, Ark., will assist Cain, and Susan Monroe will be the accompanist for the recital.
