Nicholas Herrington wins 2021 Juried Student Art Show at Ouachita
May 18, 2021Ouachita Baptist University’s Art Club announced the winners of the 2021 Juried Student Art Show on Scholars Day, April 28, with Nicholas Herrington named the first place winner. Herrington is a junior studio art and history double major from Benton, Ark. The annual competition allows students of all majors the opportunity to have their artwork displayed on campus; the 2021 exhibit will be on display in Hammons Gallery in Mabee Fine Arts Center through October 2.

May 03, 2021Dr. Jeff Root never considered going anywhere else but Ouachita for his undergraduate education. Since both his parents worked at OBU, he spent much of his time growing up on campus. In 1991, Dr. Root came back to Ouachita as a member of the administrative staff and faculty, and in 2002 he became the dean of the School of Humanities.
Ouachita Baptist University’s Carl Goodson Honors Program hosted its annual Black and White Ceremony on Wednesday, March 3, awarding three honors students with thesis research grants, inducting 123 new members and presenting 63 students with badges for their successful thesis proposals.
Weyenberg wins Ouachita's Virginia Queen Piano Competition
February 12, 2021Anna Weyenberg, a junior piano and communications & media/multimedia journalism double major from McKinney, Texas, won first place in Ouachita Baptist University’s 2021 Virginia Queen Piano Competition held on Friday, Feb. 5, in Ouachita’s McBeth Recital Hall.
