OBU Division of Music presents “The Pirates of Penzance”

The School of Fine Arts Division of Music at Ouachita Baptist University will present
William S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan’s opera in English “The Pirates of Penzance”
at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 20-22 and at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 23.
Tickets are $8 each and may be purchased through Jones Performing Arts Center box
office by calling 870-245-5563 or by going online to www.obu.edu/finearts. The performances
will be presented in the Jones Performing Arts Center on Ouachita’s campus.
“The Pirates of Penzance” tells the story of Frederic, a boy who was wrongly apprenticed
into a band of pirates. As his indentures are ending, he vows to not only leave piracy,
but try to end it altogether. The ensuing story turns to romance, revenge and pardon.
