Ouachita Baptist University employees honored for years of service

Ouachita Baptist University honored 43 faculty and staff members for extended periods of service to the institution at the school’s annual faculty/staff banquet on Sept. 3.

Glenn Good, the Charles S. and Elma Grey Goodwin Holt Professor of Physics and Pre-Medical Studies, and Dr. George Keck, the Addie Mae Maddox Professor of Music, were honored for their 40 years of service with special gifts of a $500 travel certificate at the Western-themed banquet.

Recipients of the 35-year award include: Evelyn Bettis, administrative assistant for the foster grandparents program, and Sadie Buckley, physical plant.

Recipients of the 25-year award include: Yvonne Cloud, bookstore manager; Judy Hollingsworth, student financial services head cashier; Dr. Ouida Keck, professor of music; Shirley McMillan, director of the foster grandparent program; Dr. Mike Reynolds, professor of kinesiology and leisure studies; and Alton “Sam” Walton, physical plant.

Recipients of the 20-year award include: Dr. Scott Duvall, J.C. and Mae Fuller Professor of Biblical Studies; Margaret Frazier, director of campus housing; Cindy Goodman, administrative assistant for special programs; John Hardman, director of physical plant; Judy Jones, registrar and director of admissions; and Dr. Tim Knight, J.D. Patterson Professor of Biology.

Recipients of the 15-year award include: Dr. Joe Bradshaw, W.D. and Alice Burch Professor of Chemistry and Pre-Medical Studies; Dr. Kevin Brennan, professor of political science; Sharon Cosh, ESL coordinator; Betsy Danner, women’s tennis coach; Kathy Green, payroll and fringe benefits specialist; Mary Handiboe, associate professor of theatre arts; Mary Jones, physical plant; Diane Orsburn, student loan counselor; Brenda Philson, associate TRIO director and director of Educational Talent Search; Dr. Jon Secrest, professor of music; and June Whitley, printing department.

Recipients of the 10-year award include: Tammy Barnes, administrative assistant for campus activities; Gwen Crangle, physical plant office manager; Sally Dann, athletic academic coordinator and instructor of kinesiology and leisure studies; Kim Hunter, director of purchasing; Dr. Scott Jackson, assistant professor of Christian ministries; Patty Jones, student financial services student accounts; Rebecca Jones, instructor of speech communication; Chester Mitchell, physical plant; Frances Nelson, Academic Enrichment Center director; Danny Prescott, head women’s volleyball coach; Randall Quillin, assistant director of physical plant; Margaret Reed, assistant professor and director of instructional media services; Donna Reynolds, foster grandparents program; Kristi Smith, circulation librarian; Lindsay Van Sicklen, assistant professor and periodicals librarian; and Lula Wright, physical plant.
