Ouachita Career Services to host Graduate and Professional School Fair Nov. 10

November 05, 2010 - Megan Ruggles

Ouachita Baptist University’s Career Services Office will host a Graduate and Professional School Fair Wednesday, Nov. 10, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Evans Student Center.

Students have the opportunity to learn more about graduate and professional programs, admission deadlines, entrance exam requirements, the application process and scholarship and financial aid information.

Admissions representatives and alumni from various graduate and professional schools will be available at the fair, as well as the Arkansas Department of Education Teacher Recruitment & Retention, Arkansas Department of Human Services and Deltic Timber Corporation.

Prospects wanting test preparatory information will also have the opportunity to ask questions and pick up materials from representatives with Kaplan Test Prep and Becker Professional Education. For a complete list of schools and organizations attending the fair, visit www.obu.edu/career.

“Prior to coming to the fair, I urge students to review who will be there, visit the websites of who you would like to speak with at the fair and have an understanding about either the company or the programs being represented,” said Mallory Moddelmog, OBU director of career services.

Moddelmog also recommended students come to the fair prepared with questions to ask the representatives and to bring copies of their resumes to share with employers.

“I encourage all students from all majors to take time and stop by the fair. The representatives are here for you, the student, and welcome the opportunity to visit with any student about their programs or career options,” Moddelmog added.

Upon arrival to the fair, students should check in with Career Services to register for the fair and sign up to win a door prize.

For more information, contact Mallory Moddelmog at [email protected] or (870) 245-5593 or visit www.obu.edu/career.
