Ouachita student Natalie Carroll to present senior recital April 15

Ouachita Baptist University’s Division of Music will present Natalie Carroll in her senior piano recital at 11 a.m. April 15 in Mabee Fine Arts Center’s McBeth Recital Hall. The recital is in partial fulfillment of the requirements for Carroll’s bachelor of music education degree.

A native of Harare, Zimbabwe, Carroll has earned honorable mention honors in Ouachita’s Virginia Queen Piano Competition three consecutive years. She is a member of the American Choral Directors Association and Kappa Delta Pi international education honor society and has been named to Ouachita’s Dean’s and President’s Lists.

Carroll will open her recital with Domenico Scarlatti’s “Sonata in C Major, K420,” followed by three selections by Frédéric Chopin: “Prelude in C Major, Op. 28, No. 1,” “Nocturne in E minor, Op. 72, No. 1” and “Polonaise in C-sharp minor, Op. 26, No. 1.” She will conclude with “Vol. 4, No. 102, Harmonics” and “Vol. 6, No. 146, Ostinato” from Béla Bartók’s “Mikrokosmos.”
