Ouachita String Ensemble to present concert Nov. 1

Ouachita Baptist University’s String Ensemble will perform its fall concert at 7 p.m.
on Nov. 1 in McBeth Recital Hall. The ensemble is directed by Dr. Jir Shin Boey, assistant
professor of music.
The program will include J.S. Bach’s “Suite No. 1 in C, Overture,” W. A. Mozart’s
“Divertimento in D, K. 136,” Samuel Barber’s “Adagio for Strings” and Gustav Holst’s
“St. Paul’s Suite.”
Members of the ensemble include: Emily Anderson, a sophomore Christian missions major
from Siloam Springs, Ark.; Michael Curtis, a junior performance major from Wylie,
Texas; Annelise Henley, a sophomore psychology and history major from Arkadelphia,
Ark.; Tyler Kemp, a senior music theory and composition major from Boliver, Mo.; Alex
Nisbet, professor emeritus of chemistry, and his wife, Meredith; Samantha Street,
a junior accounting major from Rogers, Ark.; Jacob Sturgeon, a sophomore choral music
education major from Pine Bluff, Ark.; Will Thompson, worship minister at First Baptist
Church of Arkadelphia; Jonathan Waddell, a sophomore psychology major from North Little
Rock, Ark.
