Ouachita to host Tiger Days March 12 and 16
April 12, 2012 - Sydney Phillips
Ouachita Baptist University’s Office of Admissions Counseling will hold two Tiger
Days this month for prospective students and their families. The first Tiger Day will
be held March 12 with registration beginning at 12 noon. The second will be held March
16 with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Tiger Days are an opportunity for prospective students and their parents to visit
the university and “see what a normal day at Ouachita is like,” said Lori Motl, OBU
director of admissions counseling. Motl added that the March Tiger Days are special
because, while anyone is welcome to attend, they are especially targeted at Texas
students who are enjoying their spring break that week.
Tiger Day participants will have the opportunity to take a tour of the campus led
by Ouachita Student Foundation members and sit in on a class of their choosing. Parents
may also join a campus tour and then take part in a question and answer panel led
by Ouachita’s administrators.
Tiger Days also allow students to divide up by potential major and meet with the dean
of their subject areas to learn more about Ouachita’s academic programs.
Rhett Dean, a freshman mass communications major from Camden, Ark., said that participating
in a Tiger Day is what helped him make his decision to attend Ouachita.
