OBU Career Services to host What to Expect at the Career Fair Workshop March 28

Ouachita’s Office of Career Services will host a What to Expect at the Career Fair
Workshop on March 28 at 12 noon in the Alumni Room of the Ouachita Commons. This workshop
is the final event leading up to the OBU Spring Career Fair on April 4.
Lauren Land, OBU’s director of career services, will lead this workshop designed to
help students prepare for the upcoming Career Fair. She strongly encouraged all students
to attend and learn what the career fair has to offer. Land said that the idea behind
the workshop is to educate students about how to research the companies that are attending
and how to “work the room” and feel confident.
In the workshop, Land will discuss crafting an effective resume and "elevator speech"
that take advantage of the brief time students often have with prospective employers.
There will also be a question and answer session where students may ask questions
about their resume, interviewing, the career fair and the Office of Career Services.
