Kassie Johnsen to present junior recital Nov. 16 at Ouachita

Ouachita Baptist University’s Division of Music will host Kassie Johnsen in her junior voice recital Friday, Nov. 16., at 11 a.m. The recital, which is free and open to the public, will be held in Mabee Fine Arts Center’s McBeth Recital Hall on Ouachita’s campus. 

Kassie JohnsenJohnsen, a junior music theory and composition major from Hot Springs, Ark., has been involved in Ouachita’s Concert Choir, Women’s Chorus and Ouachita Singers and has been named to the university’s President’s List.

She will begin the recital with “Che t’ho fatt’io” by Francesca Caccini, followed by “Liebst du um Schönheit” by Clara Schumann and “Les chemins de l’amour” by Francis Poulenc. Next, Johnsen will perform “Psalm 148” by Ned Rorem and will conclude the recital with Stephen Sondheim’s “On the Steps of the Palace” from Into the Woods. She will be accompanied by Susan Monroe on piano.
