Tiger Day set for Jan. 21 at Ouachita
January 16, 2013 - Brooke Zimny
Ouachita Baptist University’s Office of Admissions Counseling will host a Tiger Day
Monday, Jan. 21, as an opportunity for prospective students to get an inside look
at campus and student life.
“With a Tiger Day, they get a great picture of a typical day on OBU’s campus,” said
Lori Motl, OBU’s director of admissions counseling, “while getting a lot of information
to help them see if this is the campus for them.”
The day begins with an opening program at 12:30 p.m. in Hickingbotham Hall’s Young
Auditorium. At 1 p.m., visiting students have the opportunity to attend a class and
visiting parents may attend a question-and-answer panel featuring university administrators.
Ouachita’s academic deans will lead a session about the school’s academic offerings
at 2 p.m. Guests will then have the opportunity to take a campus tour, followed by
a closing session in Young Auditorium. An optional tour of residence halls is available
at 3:45 p.m.
“This Tiger Day is a little different than our other Tiger Days in that it is in the
afternoon,” Motl added. “This allows students and their families who are living a
little further away drive time in the morning and after the event, avoiding an overnight
stay.”
