Ouachita to co-sponsor Arkansas Travelers’ Faith & Family Night on Aug. 9

August 01, 2014 - OBU News Bureau

Get ready for some Travelers’ baseball and a summer concert. Ouachita Baptist University is co-sponsoring the Arkansas Travelers’ second annual Faith & Family Night on Saturday, Aug. 9, at Dickey-Stephens Park in North Little Rock.

Faith & Family Night 2014, which begins at 5:30 p.m., will feature the Travelers vs. the Corpus Christi Hooks plus a free postgame concert with contemporary Christian singer/songwriter Danny Gokey.

Gokey, a finalist on Season 8 of American Idol, released his debut album, “My Best Days,” in 2010. His latest album, “Hope in Front of Me,” was released earlier this summer.

“We enjoyed the opportunity to partner with the Travelers for their first annual Faith & Family Night last summer and look forward to another great event Aug. 9,” said Trennis Henderson, OBU vice president for communications. “We invite students and alumni as well as families and area youth groups to come enjoy a fun night of family-friendly entertainment with the Travs and Danny Gokey.”

Henderson said several Ouachita campus offices, including admissions counseling, alumni, athletics, communications and the president’s office, partnered to help sponsor the event. In addition to Ouachita, other Faith & Family Night sponsors include Awakening Events, Chick-fil-A, Grace Communications and KARK-4 News.

Individual tickets are $8 each and group tickets are available for $6 each. For details, contact the Arkansas Travelers at www.travs.com or 501-664-1555.
