Hutcheson to present sophomore recital at Ouachita March 13

Ouachita Baptist University’s Division of Music will host Lauren Hutcheson in her sophomore musical theatre recital Friday, March 13, at 2 p.m. The recital, which is free and open to the public, will be held in Mabee Fine Arts Center’s McBeth Recital Hall.

Hutcheson, a musical theatre and education major from Bossier City, La., has appeared in Ouachita’s productions of Midsummer Night’s Dream and Words, Words, Words and served as a choreographer for the university’s student production of “Second Star to the Right.” She is a Kappa Chi men’s social club little sister.

Hutcheson’s recital will include the following selections: Benj Pasek and Justin Paul’s “First Date/Last Night” from Dogfight, Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe’s “I Could Have Danced All Night” from My Fair Lady, Adam Gwon’s “Gotta Get Out” from Ordinary Days and “The Ketchup Bottle” by Tony Morinelli and The Shipley School. Aaden Jones, a sophomore musical theatre major from North Little Rock, Ark., will assist Hutcheson. John Alec Briggs will accompany her on the piano.

Also presenting a student recital on March 13 is Bret Sanders, a sophomore musical theatre major from Jonesboro, Ark.
