Ouachita’s annual Spotlight on Arkadelphia set for Aug. 25

August 21, 2015 - OBU News Bureau

Ouachita Baptist University’s annual Spotlight on Arkadelphia community and service fair is set for Tuesday, Aug. 25, the first day of the 2015 fall semester. It will be held from 8 to 9:30 p.m. on Heflin Plaza and the Student Village circle.

The annual event draws hundreds of Ouachita students, faculty and staff, providing area businesses, churches and organizations the opportunity to interact with the Ouachita community. It is co-hosted by the OBU Office of Campus Activities and Office of Communications.

More than 80 vendors are registered for this year’s Spotlight. Community participants provide free samples, coupons, brochures and other giveaways during the festival-style event.

“Spotlight on Arkadelphia is always a fun way to kick off the new school year,” said Trennis Henderson, OBU vice president for communications. “We look forward to hosting local businesses and organizations as they welcome our students back to Arkadelphia and help them connect to the community.”
