August 11, 2016 - OBU News Bureau
Ouachita Baptist University’s annual Spotlight on Arkadelphia community and service
fair is set for Tuesday, Aug. 23, the first day of the 2016 fall semester. It will
be held from 8 to 9:30 p.m. on Heflin Plaza and the Student Village circle.
The annual event draws hundreds of Ouachita students, faculty and staff, providing
area businesses, churches and organizations the opportunity to interact with the Ouachita
community. It is co-hosted by the OBU Office of Student Life and Office of Communications.
More than 80 vendors typically participate in Spotlight. Community participants provide
free samples, T-shirts, coupons and other giveaways during the festival-style event.
“Spotlight on Arkadelphia is always a fun event for us to help connect the Arkadelphia
community and the Ouachita community at the beginning of the school year,” said Brooke
Zimny, OBU director of communications and marketing. “Especially for our new students,
it’s a great opportunity to show them what Arkadelphia has to offer.”
