Ouachita to host “Small Works on Paper” exhibit featuring Arkansas artists Oct. 5-27

Ouachita Baptist University’s Department of Art and Design will host “Small Works
on Paper,” an exhibit sponsored by the Arkansas Arts Council, Oct. 5-27 in the Rosemary
Gossett Adams Galleries in Moses-Provine Hall. The exhibit is free and open to the
public.
“The work being presented in the exhibit is work made by some of Arkansas’ best and
most interesting artists to follow,” said Donnie Copeland, chair of the Department
of Art and Design. “I hope everyone will find something they connect with and enjoy,
if not many different pieces.”
“Small Works on Paper” has been around for 31 years and is a juried visual art exhibition
featuring works by Arkansas artist who are members of the Arkansas Artists Registry.
An out-of-state juror selects up to 40 pieces of artwork for the exhibition, which
travels to 10 venues throughout the state over the course of its yearlong tour. All
of the pieces in “Small Works on Paper” are no larger than 18 x 24 inches and feature
a wide variety of media, content and subject matter.
“This traveling exhibition is a great way to showcase talented Arkansas artists who
are members of our online gallery, the Arkansas Artist Registry,” said Cherri Leffew,
special events/projects manager for the Arkansas Arts Council.
Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, contact
