Ouachita's Dylan Blackwood to perform sophomore recital March 16

Ouachita Baptist University’s Division of Music will host Dylan Blackwood in his sophomore recital on Friday, March 16, at 11 a.m. The recital, which is free and open to the public, will be held in McBeth Recital Hall in Ouachita’s Mabee Fine Arts Center.

Blackwood, a musical theatre major from Walnut Ridge, Ark., will perform Marvin Hamlisch’s “I Can Do That” from A Chorus Line, Richard Rodgers’ “All Er Nuthin’” from Oklahoma and Chris Miller’s “Time” from Tuck Everlasting. He also will include a dramatic presentation of Scene 15 of Andrew Bovell’s When the Rain Stops Falling.

Dr. Jon Secrest, Addie Mae Maddox Professor of Music and chair of the department of applied music, and Dr. Scott Holsclaw, professor of theatre arts and chair of the Division of Applied Arts, are Blackwood’s instructors. Phyllis Walker will be the accompanist for the recital. Rachel Webber, a junior musical theatre major from Longview, Texas, will assist Blackwood for “All Er Nuthin.”
