Ouachita to host senior art exhibit by Chad Satchell and Shelton Wooley March 9-17
March 09, 2018 - Sarah Davis
Ouachita Baptist University’s School of Fine Arts will host Chad Satchell and Shelton
Wooley in their senior art exhibit, “Life in Vector,” March 9-17. The exhibit will
be on display in Moses-Provine Hall’s Rosemary Gossett Adams Gallery. A reception
will be held Tuesday, March 13, at 7 p.m.
Satchell is a senior graphic design major from Frisco, Texas, and Wooley is a senior
graphic design major from Ruston, La.
“The show is based on how we, as graphic designers, see the world around us,” Wooley
said. “Most artists and even non-artists see the world as a complicated image of colors
and objects. However, we see the world as simple shapes, or vectors.”
The show features a collection of Satchell’s and Wooley’s best work over the past
three years at Ouachita. Shirts, logos, posters, packaging, decks of cards and more
are on display in the first floor of the gallery.
“Both of us have grown as designers through our time at Ouachita,” Satchell said.
“I think our exhibit speaks to this as the pieces in it are complete and professional,
and we are able to talk about how and why we created the piece.”
The exhibit can be viewed during regular Adams Gallery hours, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday
through Friday. For more information, contact OBU’s School of Fine Arts at (870) 245-5129.
