Anna Darr to present senior recital at Ouachita April 3

Ouachita Baptist University will host Anna Darr in her senior musical theatre recital
on Tuesday, April 3. The recital will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Ouachita’s McBeth Recital
Hall in Mabee Fine Arts Center and is free and open to the public.
Darr is a senior musical theatre major from Alexander, Ark., and a member of Alpha
Psi Omega National Theatre Honors Fraternity. She participated in the 2018 Region
6 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. She is a student of Drew Hampton,
assistant professor of theatre arts, and Dr. Margaret Garrett, associate professor
of music.
Darr will begin her recital with Fredrick Lowe’s “Waitin’ for My Dearie” from Brigadoon, followed by David Ives’ “The Philadelphia” from All in the Timing. Darr will then perform Irving Berlin’s “Sisters” from White Christmas and scene five from David Auburn’s Proof. Darr will conclude her recital with Duncan Sheik’s “Whispering” from Spring Awakening and Sara Bareilles’ “When He Sees Me” from Waitress.
Dylan Blackwood, a junior musical theatre major from Walnut Ridge, Ark., is the choreographer
for the recital. Darr’s collaborative pianist will be Susan Monroe. Jess Elliff, a
junior musical theatre major from Maumelle, Ark., also will participate in the recital.
