What do you want for Christmas? A survey of the top gifts at Ouachita

January 01, 2020

The holiday season has quickly snuck up on us again. With the busyness of finals, packing up and heading home for the next month, who’s had time to shop for Christmas gifts? No one. Well, we did some of the work and conducted an unscientific survey of students on campus to get an idea of the most popular gifts this season. I hope this helps you in your holiday shopping, relieves some last-minute stress and makes the season merrier.

Top 5 gifts at Ouachita:

  1. A puppy (always the number one thing on every list that no one ever actually gets)

  2. A trip to a luxurious location (by luxurious I mean Wisconsin, Florida or Paris)

  3. An Apple watch

  4. Money (the classic, go-to gift for those last-minute shoppers)

  5. Makeup/makeup brushes

Don’t stress this holiday season. College kids are usually pretty easy to buy for. Gift cards and money usually does the trick. As for everyone else, it’s not the gift that matters, but the thought behind the gift that is the real reason for the season.

For more ideas, check out these honorable mentions that shoot for the top – even if it’s somewhat unrealistic.

  • “Financial stability.” –Michael Richardson
  • “Unlimited Chick-fil-A money.” –Evan Nelson
  • “Chris Hemsworth.” –Sarah Sandy
  • “Throwing knives.” –Kesley Brown
  • “An engagement ring.” –Holden Royals
  • “So I met Santa at Silver Dollar City and this is the list I gave him: to win an intramural championship, a boyfriend, for everyone to be nice to each other again.” –Audra Halbert
  • “My two front teeth, to be a #Tiger4Life, and an endless supply of Tacos 4 Life.” –Maddie Brodell
